If you’re new here, hiiiii. Here’s my spiel: I started this newsletter in 2020. It was a pandemic project. Like many others, I was stuck at home and desperate for a creative outlet or really just something to do that wasn’t sitting in my house or at the park. This was my escape. A place where I could release all the thoughts trapped in my brain—hence, the name.
It worked for a couple of years. I published essays about my life and had a great time doing it. Then I started writing professionally, and writing for fun lost its appeal. Luckily, the tides have turned. I’m learning about a little thing called a work life balance, and look! I’m back to rambling on the internet.
Anyway, I’d like to reintroduce myself. My name is Bria, and this is my *new* newsletter. This go around I’m inviting guest writers to contribute essays about whatever makes them tick. Each month, I’ll publish (at least) two essays (maybe more) that are meant to get you thinking. Ever wonder why everyone’s obsessed with lip filler, or how to find a cardigan that doesn’t make you look like a total nark? If so, you’ve come to the right place.
Alright. Enough formalities! This is starting to feel like the first day of school when you have to introduce yourself to a class, and no matter what you say, it sounds weird. Welcome or welcome back. Either way, I’m happy you’re here. Really and truly. It means more than you’d expect.
Talk soon,
B 🖤
